About me.

b. 1983
Self-taught. Curator. Founder of the PRISMA Collective.

Kaspian Shore is a self-taught artist born in 1983. After dropping out of school at age 16, Kaspian unsuccessfully applied to various art schools, which led to quitting art altogether and dabbling in music and writing instead for a few years. Only in his mid-twenties did he start painting again and soon began extending his network. In November 2011, Kaspian founded the PRISMA Collective, a large group of international artists that he has been curating a great number of shows for. His own work has been exhibited at galleries across the United States, the UK, and Australia.

Kaspian has been painting and drawing in various mediums, such as gouache, ink, oil, acrylic washes, coloured pencil, watercolour, graphite, and charcoal powder. His work is concerned with themes of gender identity, androgyny, youth, and decay. His recurring characters of gentle, melancholy boys tell stories of longing and loss for a past that could have been but never was.
